The Congress high command has finalised a list of new district presidents to strengthen its district-level organisation ahead of alliance talks with the Samajwadi Party for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. According to the report, the move is aimed at reinforcing the party's organisational structure so that Congress is in a stronger position during the upcoming negotiations. However, final approval of the list from party leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is reportedly still pending.
