Police in Bareilly have arrested two brothers in connection with an auto-rickshaw robbery. According to police, the accused had planned the robbery to fund the girlfriend's lifestyle expenses and to pay for drugs. The accused booked an auto-rickshaw for ₹500 and took the driver to a deserted road, where they struck him on the head with an iron weight and strangled him with a towel. Police recovered the looted auto, a pistol (tamancha), and cartridges from the accused. A third person allegedly involved in the incident remains at large, and a search is underway for him.
