The Ramganga and Bahgul rivers, flowing along the banks of the village of Kasari, are cutting into fertile farmland and now rapidly advancing towards the village's populated area. It has been reported that around 150 bigha of land has already been swallowed by the river's current. Continuous erosion has also put standing crops at risk, forcing farmers to feed their crops to animals out of compulsion. Villagers are concerned about the rivers' advancing course, fearing that if the erosion continues at this pace, it could threaten the inhabited part of the village as well.
